Mellaai Wing Shooting Safaris had its origin in 2000, when JD joint Edbus Farming as CEO on the border of the Vaal dam in the Free State Province near Frankfort, an area renowned for superb wing shooting vacations.
Through this family owned and operated business JD along with his lovely wife Mari brings to you a lifetime of experiences in the Free State. His roots in this province all began in 1979 when his Grand grandfather first purchased land here. JD started hunting when he was only 5 years old!
His passion for wildlife evolved over the years and at the end of 2008, due to his desire to share his intimate knowledge of the South African wildlife with others, Mellaai Wing Shooting Lodge was constructed and this was the beginning, of the leading and unparalleled Wing Shooting excitement destination in South Africa.
Mellaai Wing Shooting has opted for exclusivity rather than commercialism and no more than 30 hunting clients are accepted per season. Only one hunting party is admitted at any one time, ensuring that guests enjoy exclusive use of all facilities, and the dedicated backup of an efficient, professional team
